A social awareness campaign to encourage and educate consumers to purchase free range hen eggs instead of cage eggs. This campaign has been conceptualised to be put in place in independent green grocers and health food stores. It includes - posters and postcard awareness campaign with information relating to free range hen density on packaging. Additionally, it would be supported with a social media campaign. The new guidelines for information are coming into place in New South Wales, Australia in 2018.

About 13 million eggs are consumed each day and 4.8 billion are laid in Australia each year. Eggs labelled as free range sell at a PREMIUM so consumers need to be sure they’ve got what they’ve paid for and that they meet ethical standards. A4 Flyer and postcard promotion available from nationally distributed postcard stands, independent grocers and health food stores. The reverse side provides details on the new laws regarding free range eggs, the stocking density has to be prominently displayed on the packaging and the hens must have meaningful and regular access to the outdoors.
